Welcome back to school ... We had our first board meeting in October and reviewed our Mission, Vision, and Core Value statements. Plans are being made for our 2008 State Conference in Idaho Falls from June 22 - 26. Our National SNA President, Mary Hill, will attend our conference this year, this is quite an honor. The National President only gets to visit on a rotating schedule and this is Idaho's turn. She is a wonderful President and you will enjoy meeting with her.
Legislative Action Conference, in Washington DC, will be held March 2-5. Kay Noris, ISNA Legislative Representative, will lead our delegation from Idaho. Carolyn Sullivan, Judy Loughmiller, Jean Jensen along with Kay will attend the conference and "Charge the Hill" for child nutrition.
We are sending our FIRST ever "Future Leader Representative" to leadership this year. The board voted to send our Area 8 Representative, Eva Niederer from Ririe School District. She will go in addition to our President elect, Carolyn Sullivan from Jerome and the Vice President, Judy Loughmiller from Nampa. Leadership conference is in Colorado Springs this year from April 24-26. Eva will attend the Future Leader conference from April 22-26. We look forward to hearing about their experience this spring.
Keep recruiting new members. We are close to our 2008 goal of 953 members. As of November 2007, we had 939. Keep signing up those new members and renewing existing members. Check out the School Nutrition Association web site to keep up on the national news at schoolnutrition.org
We are close to putting together our first ever ISNA Magazine. Bonnie Helsing from Rigby is working hard. Thank you Bonnie for all you do!
